Original Ua Throw The Heater Sweatshirt

 The other medical student and I looked at each other in bewilderment. What was the joke? It took us a while to understand. Outside of medical situations, it’s still hard for me to remember that many people have strong feelings about nudity. I recently took a trip to Miami and Key West and I suppose I looked extra suspicious that day because I was selected for a pretty detailed pat down in the airport. The female TSA agent had a rehearsed routine I think designed to make people feel comfortable. I was barely paying attention to her and instead instructing my husband which bags were ours as they came through X-ray.

She had had me lift my shirt slightly to do an abdominal pat down, and at the completion she said “OK, now you can pull it down”. I thought she meant that I needed to pull my leggings down some so she could make sure I didn’t have a bomb there, so I grabbed the waistband and started to pull. She nearly had a heart attack and started spluttering, “Just your shirt!! Just your shirt!!” When I was an LPN in med surg, my RN turned various shades of green and collapsed in front of me. I called for help. Two of us got her in bed and got her undressed and in a gown. The doc came and examined her and said she had a hot appy, her appendix was inflamed and about to burst. I had 15 minutes to prep her groin for surgery. She was very hirsute (hairy). I told her I could ask a female LPN to do it, but she requested me to do it. I shaved the hair in her groin area carefully. She was grateful and trusted me. I was an older LPN in my 40s, and she did not want the other young LPN to do it.
